Eddie Van Halen - Biography in Verse

Eddie Van Halen

Dutch boy with a golden hand
All day and all night he practiced guitar
Started out Mammoth, but Van Halen was the band.
It wasn’t hard to see he’d go far.

One of the finest guitarists in the world, it’s said.
His guitar feels like a Fender, sounds like a Gibson.
He can play any guitar standing on his head.
Tapping out sounds to a standing ovation.

A classic sound that haunts the air,
Strumming with feeling on the strings
With flash of hands and flying hair,
He makes his guitar sing.

With greatness has come loss and pain.
Booze and fags are not his friends.
When friends help him to be him again,
He ducks away and bucks the trends.
