NW1 Regent's Park, Camden Town
Regent’s Park and Camden Town are two extremely touristic areas situated in the North West of London. Regent’s Park is situated both in the London Borough of Camden and in the City of Westminster. The park, which is one of Royal Parks of London, is enclosed within two roads, the Outer Circle and the Inner Circle.
It houses the very prestigious private college called Regent’s College and a number of amenities such as Queen Mary’s Gardens and playgrounds for children, as well as a boating area on the Regent’s Canal, situated on the northern side of the park.
The most important attraction in Regent’s park, though, is without any doubt, London Zoo. The zoo was the world’s first scientific zoo to be open and, today, it houses a vast number of species, over seven hundred, totaling over fifteen thousand individual animals. The zoo is within walking distance from Regent’s Park Tube station, which runs on the Bakerloo Line (brown line).
Camden Town is an extremely popular area in the northern part of London. It is easily accessible with the Northern Line and it is one of London’s most famous touristic spots. During the day, Camden Town has a huge market, with both outdoors and indoors stalls, which mainly sell rock and punk inspired items and memorabilia, as well as other goods, in the various section of the markets.
For example, the stalls situated in the market area near the Camden Lock sell artwork and handmade goods; if you’re after exotic food, try the food court on the indoor market, where the smell of ethnic cuisine will overwhelm you! If, instead, you’re looking for souvenirs, stay on the main road, where you will find plenty of shops that will satisfy all your touristic needs. At night, Camden Town becomes a great spot for live music: several bands have started from one of the many pubs in Camden, where the music scene is highly predominant and renowned around the world.
