Barnes and Castelnau removal service SW13
For the two areas that are the location of the classic Castelnau Villas and The Terrace i.e. SW13 Castelnau and Barnes respectively, Van Man in London offers the best in removals services. Having started our operations as a man with van company in 2002 we have certainly seen our fair share of moving action in south London’ Barnes and Castelnau, as well as the adjoining areas of Mortlake, East Sheen, Fulham, Putney, Kew, Chiswick, Hammersmith, Roehampton, Mortlake, East Sheen, Fulham, Putney, Kew and Gunnersbury, and by extension many other areas in and around London. Down the years we have endeavoured to be associated with a reputation of being a thorough, punctual, and professional removals service and we are glad to say that our past light removals clients think this much of us.
Our van man services are executed with the aid of a fleet of Luton vans and these vehicles have really proven to be effective for diverse assignments including office moves, garage clearances, single item moves and house moves. Their bodies are the sturdy Luton type and for gross weight each of them weighs 3.5 tons.
Every van in the fleet is fitted with a 500Kg tail-lift and this means that loads of that much weight can easily be hoisted; the maximum payload that each van can manage is upwards of 1000Kg. Every van has its team of man crews (2 or 3) and a working driver and depending on the intensity of particular house and office moves jobs we can arrange for multiple vans and crews to be dispatched. Van Man in London’s men crews are not only well trained but very friendly and professional.
Man with Luton van in SW13 Barnes and Castelnau
Barnes SW13 south west London is a riverside location in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The Barnes Village Conservation Area here is of particular interest particularly because of its characteristic features including 18th and 19th century buildings well preserved and a village on a pond. From here the places in close proximity include Putney, Roehampton, Mortlake, East Sheen, Chiswick, Hammersmith, Fulham, Kew and Gunnersbury.
The Terrace is a road in the area along which some of the oldest riverside structures in all of London can be seen. Here you will get to see a good number of Georgian mansions that were built in the early 18th century. The pink-fronted Rose House building dates back to the 17th century and it faces the famous pond in the area only a slight distance away from the oldest building in Barnes, one that was the property of Henry Fielding once.
The large open space and nature reserve found to the south of SW13 Barnes goes by the name Barnes Common. It is a 120-acre space in which there is a rural village and also different natural habitats including acid grassland, scrub, wetland and woodland. In SW13 Barnes you will also get to see:
- What was Olympic Studios along Church Road; this is where some of the best pop and rock musicians were hosted including The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, etc
- The Bull’s Head Pub which was a leading jazz venue in post-war times
- The Old Sorting Office arts centre very close to Barnes Pond where Patricia Hodge, Robert Pattinson and Timothy West among others have been previously hosted
Also in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is SW13 Castelnau. This location in the Barnes area is in fact a stretch of road 5.1 miles long. It was formerly known as the Upper Bridge Road and was declared a conservation area in 1977 alongside other locations in Barnes.
The initiative by Major Charles Lestock Boileau to start building the Castelnau Villas, Gothic Cottages, Castelnau Place and Castelnau Row in 1842 is really the point in time when SW13 Castelnau came into being. The London County Council followed suit in 1926 with the building of the Castelnau Estate which features houses that resemble cottages. The iconic Castelanu Villas built by Major Boileau include 20 pairs of exquisitely built classical villas.
